Many of us face sleep issues in our lives. Lack of sleep or poor quality of sleep has been associated with significant health problems, such as obesity, diabetes, weakened immune systems and even some cancers. It is also related to many psychological conditions such as depression, anxiety and psychosis. With growing technology addictions and work pressure, it is now more important than ever to ensure we get a good night sleep. Here’s 4 ways to beat insomnia: A conducive bedroom
I have no TV in my bedroom. Think of your bedroom as a place of peaceful rest you deserve at the end of the day. Try listening to music instead of looking at your mobile devices at night. Do not tolerate mental clutter. If possible, switch off your home wifi and charge your devices further away from your bedside. Essential Oils Diffuse relaxing essential oil like lavender before your bedtime. Or simply rub some oils between your palms and then take 3 long and deep inhalations and exhalations with your eyes closed. Exercise Studies have confirmed that consistent strenuous aerobic activity tires you out in a way that establishes restful sleep patterns that your body will replicate night after night. If possible, avoid exercising just before bedtime. That raises heart rate and boost the stress hormones. Your body will remember, and your biological clock will fall into sync. Sound Healing Many people with sleep problems who attended my sound baths tell me that they were able to enter into a deep state of relaxation during the session and as a result they get a good night sleep. The sounds and vibrations from singing bowls and gong help slow down your brain wave frequency to a theta state. In this state, your nervous system goes into a parasympathetic state and your body is able to experience a profound state of relaxation. Comments are closed.
